Business Development LeadLocation: Midlands (Birmingham Based)Salary: GBP38,835 (Full Time Equivalent) - This post is 0.5FTEHours: 17.5 hours per week The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 130 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for children, every step of the way. You will be joining The Children's Society at an exciting time; when the organisation is embarking on a new and ambitious 5 year strategy to disrupt disadvantage faced by vulnerable young people and when we are evolving our services into new geographical areas. For these reasons, we are looking for a highly motivated and skilled business development lead who has the drive and ambition to develop relationships and win new services across the region. Reporting to the Area Director, we require an ambitious, goal orientated and experienced professional with excellent knowledge of the children's sector.As part of the area management team the ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of Public Sector/Commissioning based markets with substantial, relevant business development experience and strong project management skills.The successful candidate will be able to be creative and innovative, building on current service to design and develop responses to commissioners that improve and support effective working for vulnerable young people.You must be prepared to challenge and influence at the most senior levels. In addition, first class presentation skills are a must as is your attention to detail and your ability to meet challenges creatively. You will have sound financial awareness, and judgement, plus excellent communication, negotiation and people management skills.The Children's Society runs over 100 local services that help thousands of young people who desperately need our support, and we campaign to get laws and policies changed to make children's lives happier and safer.
