Experienced Calibration Engineer required for vehicle Transmission Base Calibration opportunity in the heart of the West Midlands.

Our Midlands based Client is currently recruiting for an automotive Transmission Base Calibration Engineer. This is an exciting career opportunity to work within a World Leading Automotive Powertrain R&D Centre.

The Role:

Data analysis and automatic calibration tool creation. This is an exciting career opportunity to work within a World Leading Powertrain R&D Centre.

Main task will be to engineer tools to support automatic data analysis as well as tool to automate some of the transmission calibration tasks.

Requirements:

Understanding of SW strategies and SW specifications.

Good knowledge of calibration tool - ETAS INCA.

Understanding of data acquisition and analysis process.

Knowledge of powertrain systems and vehicle dynamics, including engine systems (ABS/ESP).

Able to work in team and under pressure with timing respect.

A Full driving license is a necessity.

Good driving record (Driving vehicles for evaluation is required).

CAN based development tools (Vector, Etas).

Proficient in Matlab / Simulink.

Knowledge of modern EMS system structure and CAN interface.

Knowledge of hydraulic control system.

Responsibilities:

Develop SW and HW solutions for automatic data collection either on test bed or in vehicle.

Develop data analysis tools to help speed up base transmission calibration tasks as well as improving quality of the calibration.

Develop data analysis tools for objective assessment of vehicle driveability (focused in transmission function).

Utilize calibration tools and data acquisition tools to measure vehicle response parameters during transmission dynamic and steady state operation, including data analysis, post processing and root cause analysis.

Document and report calibration activities.
