Naynesh Mistry is currently recruiting for a Formulation Leader to work within the Pharmaceutical division of a global contract development and manufacturing organisation based in Leicestershire, on a full time, permanent basis. This client is an established contract development and manufacturing organisation that provides an extensive range of integrated services to over 600 companies globally within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.

Main role:
The Group Leader will be part of the Formulation Team and will be responsible for managing a team of formulation scientists and technicians / operators to ensure the efficient and effective running of the group. The individual will be responsible for ensuring delivery of projects to agreed timelines and budgets.

Key responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Formulation Scientists and technicians / operators, taking responsibility for recruitment, performance management and staff development.
- Maintain a portfolio of development projects, ensuring adherence to client timelines. Manage the group with a business mindset, ensuring efficient and productive throughput of development projects with your resource.
- Be responsible for the quality of the scientific output from formulation and process studies to ensure CMC activities meet current regulatory and cGMP standards.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

ESSENTIAL:
?? BSc or PhD in a Life Science or Engineering subject.
?? A proven track record in developing drug product formulations and processes suitable for phase I, II and III stages of pharmaceutical development.
?? Significant hands on experience in pharmaceutical development, GMP manufacturing and packaging processes.
?? Experience in dealing with clients and presenting on technical topics related to scientific experiments
?? Experience supporting business development activities

DESIRABLE:
?? Experience in supervising and mentoring other scientists
