The role: Provide recognised leadership on the associated agendas of digital transformation and smart cities, including; channel shift, superfast broadband, the digitization of data and services and the installation of smart infrastructure, to bring about the expansion of technology and innovation working with partners and across different sectors. To develop a strategy in relation to digital transformation; identifying business needs and leading the implementation of appropriate Smart City solutions. To establish and support relevant partnerships and networks across a wide range of disciplines to create a collaborative environment both internally and externally to deliver programmes of work, ensuring that the Digital and Smart Cities agenda in the city develops in a way that builds a positive reputation and improves access to information and services for the city's people. You will: - Work across the council to develop a positive and compelling digital and Smart City vision, translating this into a robust strategy that provides increased organisational agility, market responsiveness and places the citizen at the heart of what we do. - Stay abreast of developments in the digital and Smart City agenda; identifying new technologies, techniques and best practice and, where appropriate, implementing such changes within the council. - Serve as lead change agent to drive digital transformation of business processes and systems, ensuring that the infrastructure supports successful delivery of programmes across a portfolio of integrated services. - Establish and support relevant partnerships and networks across a wide range of disciplines to create a collaborative environment both internally and externally, including with high technology industries and Universities, to deliver projects and maximise digital conversion in the city. - Transform organisational thinking and capability so that digital and Smart City thinking is fully embraced, working collaboratively with senior leaders to identify opportunities to move LCC to a digital transformation model and culture. Our ideal candidate will have: - Previous experience in transformation programme delivery built around senior internal relationships and inspiring change - Significant experience of working with the creative and technical development of existing and emerging digital and Smart City solutions to tackle key challenges - Ability to present information and perspectives clearly and convincingly so that personal credibility is evident to successfully engage others - Strong project management and leadership skills, including managing operational delivery teams - Understanding of the emerging trends in both the digital and Smart City agenda, and a proven track record of success in digital systems transformation - Confidently be able to identify strategic transformation needs and lead all aspects of planning with pragmatic recommendations - Understanding of current digital landscape and smart city agendas and their implications in driving and enhancing customer experience - Evidence of working with internal and external stakeholders, including high technological industries and Universities, to optimise the digital agenda Reed Specialist Recruitment is an Employment Agency and an Employment Business for permanent and temporary recruitment.
