Product Support Engineer - Civil Large Engines An exciting opportunity has arisen for people to join our team providing in-service engineering support to the Civil Large Engine fleet. Life Cycle Engineering is our global technical support organisation focused on ensuring safe, reliable and cost effective engine operation for our airline customers. Our teams are embedded within the Large Engine Project teams covering a range of component and sub-subsystem issues (e.g. turbines, compressors, oils and transmissions). Our aim is to provide cradle to grave support ranging from our next generation Advanced Programmes, to our engines that are heading towards retirement. As the prime engineering interface to the in-service fleet, we are dedicated to providing technical excellence and rapid response towards solving engine technical and operational difficulties - anytime, anywhere, and always in a professional manner. You will lead investigations of service events, working closely with designers, specialists and our Customer Support organisation. You will drive the determination and implementation of appropriate field containment strategies to minimise operational disruption and to manage the flying fleet, and advise on any necessary design changes to address root cause. As an authoritative engineer, you will facilitate detailed reviews of the service-run engine hardware to ensure that the technical standard of the engines is maintained. Your work will enable products to meet the project and business requirements for key service attributes including safety, reliability, maintenance costs and maintenance burden and have a direct impact on the product costs and company profitability. You will also assist the design community bring better products to market through the maintenance of lifecycle cost models and application of the Design for Service principles. Qualifications and experience: - You will have proven complex technical problem solving skills. - You will be customer focused with a strong desire to deliver excellent customer service. - You will have strong planning and organizing skills to be able deliver significant tasks to programmes. - You will be result driven to be able to work with minimal supervision. - You will have a high level of IT literacy. - You will have good communication skills to be able to cooperate at all levels of the business with internal and external parties. - You will be able to manage multiple tasks and to make accurate and considered technical decisions under pressure.
