Managing Director (3 Divisions with a turnover of £20million ) (Generators, Pumps, Plant Hire & Asset Rental) Food, Food Production, Water, Waste, Industrial, Construction, Engineering, Agriculture, Events, Transport, Automotive, Power, Defence, Retail etc £80K , 20% Bonus, Car, Pension, BUPA etc SUMMARY - The role involves managing three very successful and growing divisions that turns over £20 million in total (10, 6 & 5) and employees 120 people, direct reports include 3 General Managers. These divisions have multiple locations around the UK, so living location is open. - You will lead and take responsibility for the business activities of the three divisions, focussing on strategy, sales, profitability, compliance, quality, customer service, efficiency, innovation, and employee engagement. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership - Develop and implement the business strategy and organisational performance plans to deliver a sustainable high performing business. - Offer leadership and direction to the business and ensure delivery in full of the business plans and objectives - Lead and motivate direct reports direct reports to achieve organisational goals, by setting appropriate objectives, carrying out performance reviews, providing feedback/coaching and ensuring the same is completed for all staff within the business. - Strive to create a working environment focussed on employee engagement, fairness, equality, Values, high performance and continuous improvement. Efficiency and Resource Management - Manage budgets to ensure lowest cost delivery options are identified and implemented - Match the resource levels and skill base of the workforce to the business requirements, identifying and documenting training needs to ensure competence is maintained and where necessary enhanced. - Maximise workforce efficiency by using relevant systems, tools, layout and processes. - Monitor, measure and report on business issues, opportunities, development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales, including agreed KPI's to the Board. Compliance - Take responsibility for Health & Safety, Environment & Quality, liaising with the HSEQ Manager as required and ensuring audit action items are completed by staff in a timely manner as required. - Identify requirements of current legislation, regulations & standards and ensure compliance throughout the business. - Work with HR professionals to ensure key employment processes such as recruitment, grievance & disciplinary are compiled with fully to minimise risk to the business - Execute the responsibilities of a company director according to lawful and ethical standards as referenced in the Ethical Business Principles Policy - Maintain and develop organisational culture, values and reputation in the market place and with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies Business Growth and Innovation - Keep abreast of market and product developments, to ensure appropriate business growth opportunities are maximised. REQUIREMENTS - Strong, inspirational leader with the ability to lead, manage and motivate a strong and effective group of General Managers. - Intelligent individual with excellent interpersonal skills - Experienced manager in a technical/engineering/ hire or asset rental environment - It would also help if the individual has managed different divisions or multiple locations - Strong business and financial acumen with excellent communication skills, with robust decision making, planning and organisational skills.
