The Role: As Hardware Technician build and support our hardware systems on Company, supplier or customer premises. Depending on experience, you can additionally perform project engineering duties or be part of the signalling hardware design process. As Hardware Technician you will: - Build hardware systems in accordance with designs and drawings, utilising best-practice methods of manufacture to achieve high quality - Ensure high standards of build area housekeeping and safety awareness - Provide technical support to installation and commissioning - Technical support to installed base/customers e.g. for maintenance, repair, etc. - Participate in fault-finding - May assist in materials management - May be required to configure lab tools used in hardware build - Operate conscientiously and safely with due regard to confidentiality and security when working on-site/at client premises, representing the Company in a professional manner Role requirements of Hardware Technician: - Enthusiastic, flexible and open to learning new technologies and processes. - Relevant technical qualifications or equivalent experience of hardware design/build and maintenance - 3 years relevant experience in a similar role. - Full driving licence is a distinct advantage - Individual must be willing to work on-site shifts when required during installations/commissionings and/or post-commissioning support, with the likelihood of unsociable hours/weekends/public holidays including Xmas/New Year and Easter a requirement of the role. - May come from any industry. Rail Signalling hardware would be ideal, but not essential as training will be given. The individual and willingness to learn are the most important.
