ATA are working in partnership with a leading and ever growing national infrastructure contractor who are looking for a dynamic and all-rounded Project Manager to lead a new and exclusive framework recently awarded with a duration of 7 years. This role will see you as the lead for the contract which is an exclusive MEICA maintenance contract; responsible for maintenance, repair, replacement and capital investment of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems for almost 1000 across British and Welsh Waterways. This is a busy and reactive contract with an ever-changing portfolio of works in which as Project Manager you will responsible for all aspects of programme delivery, reviewing performance against KPIs and driving continuous improvement for the client, the Canal & River Trust.

*This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager or Developing Project Manager with experience on M&E contracts to take on a new and varied contract and have real influence and accountability to drive this contract to a success*


- Responsible for the strategic overview of the programme and performance of the work delivered by the teams working across England and Wales

- Day-to-day control and management of the teams

- Overseeing the programme, reacting to and managing change

- Working closely with client representatives and providing regular progress updates

- Identifying, reporting and mitigation of project delays and change

- Budgetary Control - circa GBP3.5M contract per year

- KPI management, identifying areas of improvement

- Man Management, Training and Development of Engineering and Operational staff.


This is a high-volume activity contract - to be successful you will have to be well organised and be able to react and make quick decisions. It requires Project Manager who can thrive in a fast-paced environment as well as ensuring clear communication across teams, the client and associated stakeholders! Our client are looking for a skilled Project Manager with the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

- HNC/HND/Degree in relevant Engineering discipline

- Contracting experience ideally with proven success managing a high volume, low value contracts. Sectors of particular interest cover Water and Waste Water, Environmental, utilities, highways, rail or associated MEICA maintenance contracts

- Proven success managing and improving deliverables/KPIs within a framework

- Site safety qualifications- SMSTS/CSCS

- Flexibility to travel where required
