Management Systems Assessor

Based in the UK Midlands with experience working within the construction sector, you will have the gravitas and credibility to lead multi discipline teams delivering Management System assessments and associated certification services.

You will have a good engineering or scientific background and demonstrate a good understanding of management systems within the construction sector.

Experience within engineering and asset management within utilities and the rail sectors would also be a distinct advantage

Responsibilities will include

1.Undertaking business assurance assessments according to international management system standards.

2. Leading multi-disciplinary and/or international assessment teams effectively, ensuring that the visit is completed within the agreed time-scales, and co-coordinating team findings to reach conclusions.

3. Producing high quality assessment reports or other reports such as summary reports, reflecting business assurance principles, in compliance with accreditation requirements and internal procedures

4. Coaching Assessors under training, recommending authorisation and further development activities as appropriate. Mentor less experienced Lead Assessors to assist in the development of their professional skills.

To be considered

1. Experience in the construction and engineering sectors is a prerequisite.

2. Experience working for Certification Bodies and or with heavy engineering and rail sectors would be a distinct advantage.

3. A degree (or equivalent qualification e.g.. HND and or associated experience) in a relevant subject such as engineering or science.

4. Understanding of the legal and regulatory framework and requirements of the specified sectors

5. A thorough understanding of the application of management systems in a range of organisations, a working knowledge of management systems, i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 55001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and their application in a business setting.

6. Experience with or management of second or third party auditing/assessment, including system level auditing and process level auditing, an advantage.

7. Understanding of the principles of good client management and application within the certification business.

8.Experience in developing and managing complex technical projects

9.Appreciation of the full range of LRQA products and services

10.Competent in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
