Science Teaching Assistant - Birmingham - September 2017

A fantastic secondary school located in South Birmingham are currently searching for a talented science teaching assistant who is ready to become a member of the science department in a support role from September.

This role is ideally suited to a recent graduate who has a passion for science. The school have worked with graduates previously in support roles with the aim in mind to give science graduates great experience in a teaching assistant role before they embark upon teacher training.

- Pre PGCE or other Teacher Training experience

For this position you must be a confident and engaging science teaching assistant who has a science related degree and strong A Levels. The ideal candidate is a graduate who can develop excellent rapport with students from KS3 to KS5. You will inspire and motivate students and help accelerate progress amongst learners.

In this science teaching assistant role you will work with small group interventions within the science department, supporting learners to grasp scientific concepts and helping them to enjoy education. You will be supporting pupils both independently and in small groups or within the classroom setting. The class teachers within the science department and the head of Science will support you throughout the year giving you excellent opportunities to observe outstanding teaching.
